Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. Visit Boudhanath stupa

Morning/Afternoon: Land in Kathmandu (1,400m). Check into your hotel situated right next to the grand Boudhanath Stupa.

Evening: Witness an evening ritual of 108 butter lamp lightings at a traditional Tibetan monastery. Participate in the evening circumambulation (kora) alongside local devotees.

Overnight: Boudhanath, Kathmandu

Day 02: Secrets of the Hidden Valley- Visit Swyambhunath stupa, Patan & Golden Temple

Morning: Visit Swayambhunath Stupa (The Monkey Temple) at sunrise to watch the valley wake up. Explore the ancient shrines and the on-site museum.

Afternoon: Journey to the ancient city of Patan. Participate in a private Singing Bowl Sound Healing session conducted by a local master near the 12th-century Golden Temple.

Day 03: The Ultimate Sacrifice (Kathmandu to Namobuddha)

Morning: Drive east out of the valley through green terraced fields to Namobuddha (1,750m, 2 hours).

Afternoon: Short hike to Namobuddha, prayer-flag-strewn path to the hilltop cave where Prince Mahasattva fed himself to a starving tigress. Engage in an evening meditation session inside the main hall of the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery.

Day 04: Caves of the Lotus-Born Master (Namobuddha to Pharping)

Morning: Take an easy, scenic drive across the southern rim of the Kathmandu Valley to the sacred town of Pharping (approx. 65 km, 2.5 hours).

Afternoon: Visit the Asura Cave and the Yanglesho Cave, where Guru Rinpoche practiced intensive meditation. The cliffs here are embedded with handprints and sacred signs. Explore the surrounding Vajrayogini temples.

Day 05: Journey to the Sacred Plains (Drive Pharping to Lumbini)

Morning: Depart early from Pharping for a smooth overland drive down to the tropical plains of Lumbini (approx. 270 km, 7 hours) (with option of Flight from Kathmandu)

Afternoon: Arrive in Lumbini, check into your hotel, and rest after the drive.

Evening: Spend a quiet evening at the International Crane Sanctuary, a peaceful wetland reserve located right inside the outer canal area.

Day 06: In the Footsteps of the Buddha

Morning: Enter the Sacred Garden in the quiet morning hours. Meditate under the ancient Bodhi tree next to the Maya Devi Temple and the Ashoka Pillar, marking the exact birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama.

Afternoon: Explore the vast Monastic Zone. Visit the stunning Cambodian, German Neo-Buddhist, and eternal flame peace pagodas.

Day 07: The Prince’s Playground (Tilaurakot Heritage Trip)

Morning: Take a smooth 45-minute drive to Tilaurakot (Ancient Kapilavastu). Walk through the active archaeological excavations of the eastern gate, the exact spot where Prince Siddhartha renounced his royal life.

Afternoon: Visit Kudan, the ancient grove where Buddha returned after reaching enlightenment to meet his family.

Day 08: Drive back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu via the Narayanghat, Chitwan highway corridor (7–8 hours).

Option B (flight to Kathmandu): Take a 45-minute drive to Bhairahawa Airport for a 35-minute scenic flight past the Central Himalayas back to Kathmandu.
